Electric forced air furnaces are usually very simple, but have many controls that are to complex for the average home owner to tackle, the only problems that could be addressed by the home owner are poor air flow, and nothing working at all.
if you have poor air flow check your filter, it is located either inside of the furnace itself or in the return grill inside the house. if the filter is clean or you are unable to find the filter then call (757)875-1200 for service. If the furnace is doing nothing at all, start by checking the breaker or fuse for the furnace if you have fuses you will not be able to visually see if they are blown. the fuses for a electric furnace are cartridge type fusses, and the filament is not visible. you can check these fuses with a multi-meter or ohm meter or you can simply replace both fuses one at a time so you know which one is bad. the fuses are not expensive and trying two before calling for service is a cost effective way of avoiding a service call. Keep in mind that many furnaces have fusses on the inside of the furnace in addition to the breaker or fuse in the electrical panel. if you are unable to solve your problem with these instructions call (757)875-1200 for service.
